Located in the Kidron Valley at the foot of the Mount of Olives, this church is identified as the tomb of Mary. The earliest church on this site was built in the 4th century with a shrine to Mary, perhaps in a cave, at its center. The facade of this basilica is one of the best examples of Crusader archiecture in Jersualem.
